Ebay have removed the ability to print label and removed collection by RM.

Today I tried to print off a label but realised the page has changed overnight
I now can only print off a QR code and there is isn`t an option to arrange collection anymore by RM
So if I print a label myself via RM I`ll be charged twice.
Anyone else having problems with this?

After an hour on the phone to Ebay(!) I now realise the buyer selected Evri so I cant have item collected and cant use RM so I have cancelled the transaction as I `m about to go into hospital and haven`t got time to get the parcel to a pick up point.
As I chose RM rather than Ebay it seems a shame that this is overridden by the buyers?0 -
You need to turn evri off in your simple postage settings I think2

I agree. If an item is listed as simple delivery then either Royal Mail or Evri is used- but Evri can be turned off in your seller settings. However be warned that turning off one of the options automatically makes the remaining one expensive.Lorian said:You need to turn evri off in your simple postage settings I think

I have selected only RM but sadly the buyer can override this I think

The buyer doesn't get to choose the carrier. But eBay might override your 'preferences' if there is a significant difference in service between carriers, e.g Highlands and Islands, or if the size/weight make the preferred service unavailable.janb5 said:I have selected only RM but sadly the buyer can override this I think

I have spoken to Ebay tonight and they have confirmed I turned off Evri in my postage settings so it looks as tho` the buyer can still override this .0

Buyers don't see the couriers in the postage options (or at least not in my buying experience, only with business sellers if they've specified). I don't know why this has happened for your item but it's very unlikely the buyer was able to choose to override your setting.janb5 said:I have spoken to Ebay tonight and they have confirmed I turned off Evri in my postage settings so it looks as tho` the buyer can still override this .0 -
As usual customer services lied to you. I had a vague recollection that ebay could over ride your settings if you only had one available that the buyer couldn't choose , but it was usually Evri that was the issue as they tend to only cover mainland Britain, so people slightly more far flung might be offered RM even if seller had opted out. However I admit I am using Vinted such a lot now and know that's their policy so might be getting muddled.janb5 said:I have spoken to Ebay tonight and they have confirmed I turned off Evri in my postage settings so it looks as tho` the buyer can still override this .
I'm just looking through ebay FAQs now.
This is the help page:Choosing your preferred carrier
You'll automatically be opted in to use all carriers that are available in this programme. If you would prefer not to send your items with a particular carrier, you can exclude them in your settings. Here's how:
- Go to your Postage preferences.
- Select Edit next to Simple Delivery.
- Adjust the toggle next to the carrier you'd prefer not to use.
EDIT it does go on to say :- In certain cases, if your preferred carrier can't accept your item, we'll provide you with a label for a carrier you've opted out of in your settings. For example, if your parcel exceeds your preferred carrier's size or weight limits, we may send your item with an alternative carrier

I'd agree it is extremely unlikely that there is a uk address that evri deliver to but royal mail don't, however there are differences between size and weight maximums and maybe restrictions on things like electronics, which may mean evri is the only option for some purchases.soolin said:

Hi I can confirm I have checked settings on both accounts which excludes Evri. As the buyer had chosen Evri and I was unable to comply with this- ( I`m going into hospital tomorrow and had run out of time to take it to the pick up shop which is quite a way from me) I cancelled the order and contacted the buyer.
I have asked the agent to escalate my concerns but doubt that will happen...
This wasn`t an unusual item, it was for a double duvet cover+ pillow cases.0
