Is this a scam - purporting to be cheque from Virgin Media?

    Didn't screenshot it, but it started out as SCAM, without the "Is this a"

    Next time I get annoyed I'll need a full screenshot as well as quoting any dubious text.

    As per other replies, I can see any way, on it's own, that paying in a cheque can cause you detriment.
    One thing you could be careful about though, is if someone, claiming to be from Virgin Media, subsequently contacts you, and says something like "oops, we refunded you twice, please send the £65.38 back to such-and-such sort code and account number".
    I think there have been scams along those lines (not necessarily pretending to be VM) where later the cheque bounces and you are down by the amount sent back.

    But as long as you don't go sending the money back anywhere, even if the cheque did bounce you are no worse off than if you didn't pay it in.
