Try returning at a different branch, you might get a more amenable managerThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
Are terms printed on a receipt contractual? Given receipts are typically given after you’ve paid.
If there are signs in store stating 7 days, I can’t see you have much argument. Pretty poor service though, although it’s The Range. I wouldn’t really expect much more.

Different legal rights apply to online purchases regarding change of mind.2childmum2 said:The actual terms and conditions on the website also say you can return items within 14 days. There is no reference to seasonal changes
Most stores seem to extend the time you have to return items at Christmas, not reduced it!
If goods are purchased in store you never have any right to return due to a change of mind.
Hopefully you aren't mixing those up.
As above, stores may offer change of mind returns and publish their terms at the point of sale.1 -
We’re talking about their standard terms for in-store purchases, which are published on their website here: https://www.therange.co.uk/terms-and-conditions/Ayr_Rage said:

“6.1.5 Should You wish to return all or part of an Off-The-Shelf Purchase during the Change of Mind Period, unless Goods within Your Off-The-Shelf Purchase that You wish to return are exempt from this privilege under the terms set out in Clause 6.1.9, or as displayed in Our Stores, or provided to You under the terms set out in Clauses 5.1.2 or 5.1.3, You must return all or part of Your Off-The-Shelf Purchase to Us at Our Stores.”2

Ok, the two different sections of their website contradict each other as well then.Desmond_Hume said:“6.1.5 Should You wish to return all or part of an Off-The-Shelf Purchase during the Change of Mind Period, unless Goods within Your Off-The-Shelf Purchase that You wish to return are exempt from this privilege under the terms set out in Clause 6.1.9, or as displayed in Our Stores, or provided to You under the terms set out in Clauses 5.1.2 or 5.1.3, You must return all or part of Your Off-The-Shelf Purchase to Us at Our Stores.”1 -
Another store to walk past..
It's no where near Christmas.🤬
Which TBH, many stores give a longer time to return items. Not shorter.Life in the slow lane1 -
Arguably not if you don't get the receipt until after you have paid. If the receipt was actually a invoice and the OP had the opportunity to read the terms printed on it before paying then I would agree with you.elsien said:Is there not an argument though that the returns policy stated on the receipt at the point of sale then forms part of the contract?

It WAS at the discretion of the retailer. However once they concluded the contract with certain T&Cs, they are indeed held to those and cant chante at their discretion now.TadleyBaggie said:If this was a change of mind return of something bought in store, then there is no statutory right to return. Any return is at the discretion of the retailer.
Of course the question is what were the T&Cs - will depend on whether the signs in place on that date, were they sufficiently visible, was the wording on the website clear and unequivocal, etc. If there was a contradiction, its usually in favour of the party that didn't draft the contract, ie the OP.0 -
If it was bought 6 days ago that is within the 7 days.0
