If you care, Lenovo say 2 OS updates (think it may have been A14 at new) and four years of security updates (from June 24), usually served up bi-monthly.

Moto are doing better at OS support but are still lagging Samsung/Google by some way.

Too late - I've ordered one @£183

Even Asda charges £300 for them - so I am happy with the price !

OK, I have my new Motorola G85 and am trying to squeeze on the aftermarket hard plastic case

Should I remove the thin silicon rubber case first ?

My old G7 power did not need the inner case removing first before fitting a case - they are both still on the phone

Phone cases aren't designed to be Double Dutch.

MouldyOldDough Was it the battery power that made you get a new phone.
Mine is also a Motorola Power and the battery seems to drain more quickly recently and if i've read things right they can't be replaced. So also looking for new.

Battery on a G7 Power can be replaced (at least they could in 2021) when I did so, battery cost me £4.75 on ebay.

G7 Power batteries can be replaced only not by the user

i had a phone accessory shop replace mine 4  years ago @ £20

I see.  Just to add , i thought my mobile was moto g7 but it is a moto e13 go. But same sort of videos showing how to get the back off. No way am doing that , glue , wires , special tools. thanks.

No-one claims any version of Gorilla glass is unscratchable. Not even Corning. Depending on the version you'll find better scratch protection or better smash protection. But whatever they claim I'm sure my son would manage to scratch them smash it.
