Good morning again. I haven't posted for a week or two, I had some kind of virus which knocked me flat. It's unusual for me, I rarely even have a cold. Anyway, it's gone now. I was more worried about dh, but he's ok.
There's a thin layer of snow here, hope Izzy isn't snowed in, it'll be worse where she is.
I've read back a little way, Dp1 I'm sorry to see that dgd is poorly, hope she soon picks up.
Hope everyone else is all right, take care folks.15 -
Morning Scarlett and all to follow
Its nice to see you posting Scarlett we have been worried about you, I hope everything is ok ? X
Very cold here again this morning but no frost, it’s raining very hard though, the heating kicked on this morning so it was nice to get up to a warm house.
I am off to see Matt today, they found out yesterday that he got his funding for his residential place so a move in imminent, it will be a few weeks yet but I am very pleased for them all it’s what they all need. I have not been given notice yet but will find out more today, I think the notice will take me up till just before Christmas so I need to start looking for work for after that. I will miss the family as we have become good friends.
Dinner tonight will be pizza and salad nice and easy after being at work, I have a shopping delivery coming too, OH has the day off today and he will be going to see his dad and then pop in on his mum too, I’m afraid his sister will never step up which makes me so angry, I do more for her parents than she does 😡
I really need to get on and wrap some presents, it’s mums Birthday tomorrow and then three more family members before Christmas, it’s an expensive time of year.
DP1 I hope little one is ok xxx
Have good days all and take care xx14 -

Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons , pleased you're feeling better.
Temperature has plummeted, no frost and it's raining this morning.
Picked the last few tomatoes yesterday, mainly green so will probably make chutney.
Think I'll make some soup.
@dp1 sorry little one isn't well, hope she feels better soon.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.13 -
Morning all - thanks for the start @Scarlet, good to have you back. I hope that you're fully recovered, just keep taking things easy. It's blooming cold here, not quite in minus figures but close. The other day I brought out the winter duvet bit, I'm going to use it doubled up this year, not attached to the other one. I need more warmth over me rather on the half which isn't used. Let's see how I fare. No central heating here, so until I light the stove downstairs the place is baltic.Yesterday I was fairly slothful, I only went out to get a TV magazine and a cauliflower. The rain just tipped down all day, sometimes heavy and sometimes less so - but persistent. Then, in the evening it dried up and we had a glorious sunset. Still no rain this morning and I'm watching fluffy pink clouds gently drift across the sky with the west wind. The stars were twinkling earlier this morning. It all almost makes up for the weather.I've washed my hair and now having my first coffee. There's soup to make, I keep on planning to do this and then don't.I've a couple of orders arriving today, at least that's what I've been told, so will stay close by. I hope that all are doing well, keeping warm and getting better.13

Morning All
Bright here but very cold, the sun is just about to peek over the hills. I seemed to pick the only heavy shower to go out in yesterday, thought it was going to stay dry until mid morning but I was wrong - it stopped raining after I got home soaked to the skin!
I may put some washing out this morning, the sun shines on the back of the house and the line is up against a white wall so should at least half dry.
Lovely to see you back Scarlet, we were worried about you. Hope you continue to improve.
Glad your new job went well Coxy.
Shame on your SIL Ruby.
Pleased to hear the little one is improving dp1.
The heating is on, I'll clean out the stove in a bit and re-light it. Will need some help later to get the coal in before a delivery tomorrow morning.
No visitors today I don't think - could do with a day to myself which sounds very selfish. I am very lucky to have so many friends popping in but would like a day in my PJs once I've been out for a walk.
Take care. XX12 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It's good to have you back, we have missed you.
Well winter has cometh with a vengeance. We had sleet (or could have been snow) overnight, there is evidence of it lying in the gardens. It had stopped when I got up and now we have odd snippets of blue sky. and occasional sunny spells are forecast. We are set to reach the dizzy heights of 2 deg by mid-day! It's bus trip day (aka Skipton) and my child's padded M & S coat is out warming up. (Age 15, Boundary Mills bargain and really snug, sadly I look like the Michelin man in it!
I'm hoping I spot possible stocking fillers for the DGDs as I am at a standstill with stuff for them. I got off to a good start with the younger two. I spotted some gorgeous gift boxes decorated with sparkly ballet dancers early in the year and thought I would keep buying toiletries, make up etc to pack in them. They are now full to the brim.
Have a good day folks if you can, thinking of our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. DP1 I hope little DGD is picking up soon. RUBY never say never, your SIL might surprise you yet, even though it sounds unlikely. Still missing NAN, I don't like it when regulars just disappear on us. Take care all, wrap up warm xx

Morning all, thanks Gers.We have some blue sky after all the heavy rain yesterday. I was still lying in bed when I heard the letterbox bang, a delivery for DS about 7.20. We don't get up as early since DH had his op and isn't working - I think he's retired now at long last, although he will still price jobs and potter around getting stuff if needed for DS2.Glad to see you back @ScarletRibbons.I went to the retail park and got lots of bits from HB for stocking fillers for the DGC,then on to marks and asda for some food items.I got some pork mince to go with beef to make meatballs today, never done it before so hope they turn out ok. I was shattered by the time DH picked me up, my bags were heavy.Get well wishes for the poorlies, sending hugs for dp1s LO. Glad you are getting better too Camelot.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)13

Morning everyone
It was still pouring down when I went to bed...has stopped now and it's a sunny morning, though sleet is forecast - it was really cold when I rescued the bins and stood them back up.
I need some shopping this morning and will call in at mam and dads first, probably go over to my friends for a cuppa later this afternoon.
DD said last night that little one had been a bit happier yesterday and had managed a little bit of yogurt and a tiny bit of soup. She texted before bed but most of it was in a made up language so I had no idea what she was saying...'I thought you'd be able to understand it granny!'
Sorry to hear you've been poorly Scarlet Ribbons x
TA that was an excellent idea for youngest granddaughters Christmas
I went on M and S website yesterday to order a pale blue jumper for mams present from dad, only to find they've changed their sizes so now have small, medium and large instead of 'proper' sizes.
Right best get going. Hope everyone has a good day x
