Car finance compensation

I have bought 3 car cars through the same garage in the time frame mentioned for compensation.
I have the registrations of the cars but not the account details, do you need the account details ? 
The garage was originally Benfield but they were bought out by Lookers, will that matter?

Any claim would be against the finance company, not the dealer.

Garage is irrelevant, it's the lender that is important and if they still exist or not etc. 

Current proposal is that lenders will have to proactively reach out to customers impacted but until the approach is confirmed it may change. If you are untraceable because you've moved home a dozen times and divorced and married 4 times too then you may have to reach out to them, with a vehicle registration and approximate date most lenders will be able to find your account if they still hold it.
