Expired Mobile Contract

My wife and I have recently came to the end of our 24 month contracts with O2. The contract expiry date was 6th November 2025 for both contracts.

What I'm wondering is how will our deal with O2 work now? Will we still be charged the current fee on a rolling month by month basis or will we have to look for another contract? Obviously not wanting to take out another contract with O2 as the deal my wife and I took with them was quite decent.

We haven't received any correspondence from O2 suggesting either so wondering where we stood.

Your contract didn't end, it simply reached its minimum term. The contract continues until canceled by either party. So O2 will continue to supply the service and charge you, although the cost may increase if you had a discount for the minimum term.

I would echo that, some of the rolling contracts that start when out of contract can be extremely costly.

You can check exactly what your current tariff is by logging into MyO2 online or in the app.

You would normally sign an indefinite contract with a minimum term at which point you can cancel, with the appropriate notice, but in the absence of doing so it will just carry on on the same terms (though those same terms could include a price change at the end of minimum period)

They generally don't reduce the tariff automatically.

I usually put a reminder on my calendar on my phone 1 month before min term end. Check the price around and ring them to see if they can match the deal...
