As I have said on all the other similar threads these sellers are usually rife at this time of year, I get dozens a day on my facebook feed and I don't know how to stop people, possibly those not particularly internet savvy, from losing their money to these scumbags.
We can warn buyers to watch for fake information, return policies that don't comply with UK regs, things like using 'London' or any other UK place in their names - watch for AI ads but ultimately these people don't give up . I even started reporting them to facebook, who do nothing.
As well as all the AI ads, fake stores , stolen photos - we must now warn to watch for the ' sorry your payment didn't go through' issue as well.
I feel very sorry for people who lose their money to these people.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ok, so on the face of it you have indeed contracted with a UK company, so UK consumer laws should apply.johnb80 said:

I expect a hunch based on the umpteen other Chinese-based sellers which have no actual connection with the UK.johnb80 said:

What site did you buy from?
But looking at the company details, you’ll see from the director and shareholder info that it’s a one-man band. And that one man lives in Tunisia. I suspect that (assuming he really exists and is running the business) he’s just arranging goods to be shipped directly from China to punters in the UK. I doubt they’ve got any real presence in the UK.
In theory you could get a CCJ against the company, but I’m not sure how much that would help you. Their last balance sheet said they had only £5k of assets, and we have no idea what form those take or which country they’re in.0 -
Quite easy. If you go back to this time last year & the run up to Christmas. There were many posts on exactly this. As well as a few running throughout the year...johnb80 said:

How many retailers can you think of that sell online (& have bricks & mortar store) that use London in their name & advertise on facebook?Life in the slow lane0
