So if the DVLA have posted the V5 off to you the problem is not with the DVLAMollythestaffy said:Thanks for replies.Just to add the DVLA on both occasions have said that they have sent the log books and have given me the dates so as far as they are concerned they have left the building and yet i never recieved them.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
What address do DVLA have recorded against the motorcycles?
If it is the correct address then that is the address the log books were sent to.It is not done by a person sitting at a desk who may make a mistake. A computer issues the documents to the address on the record.
If the address is noted correctly then that is the address they were issued to.Nobody has problems with Royal Mail until it happens. There have been complaints about missing deliveries..
Business post is not a priority for Royal Mail.It could happen at any sorting office along the way, not necessarily your local one.It is not the first time that a forgotten mail bag has been found at a mater date.1 -
Bought a vehicle recently from a dealer who did the paperwork whilst I was there and the logbook arrived 3 days later.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...1

So to say it's not a DVLA issue can't be ruled completely out.0 -
If they're asking for £50 this time, they must be using the V62 route (ie request a replacement V5 if its lost or never done by the dealer etc). And if its "this time", then something happened "last time" which might not have even produced a valid V5 - ie dealer inaction or DVLA error.Mollythestaffy said:jimjames said:

As the address was on the old V5. So has nothing to do with the V5 of the bikes you have purchased. Each V5 is it's own thing.Mollythestaffy said:Thanks for replies.Just to add the DVLA on both occasions have said that they have sent the log books and have given me the dates so as far as they are concerned they have left the building and yet i never recieved them. Now hear is the thing. When i traded my motorcycle in i got a letter for that said motorcycle saying that i am no longer the keeper of that vehicle. It's a standard letter and it had my correct address and i have recieved it? So as far as i am concerned they have the correct address? And yet the new motorcycle log books never made it here?. In response to option 1 you mentioned as i said in my first post it's highly unlikley that 2 seperate dealerships have sent the wrong address to the DVLA and for your option 3 as said i have never had a problem with Royal mail.So i am left with option 2 .
Did DVLA confirm that the address on the new V5 is your correct address?
DVLA send out thousands of letters a day. It is possible that sack of mail is sat at the back of sorting center waiting to be sorted..
