Me and my partner migrated to universal credit in July he was in the support group and I was in work related group on esa I never had any work related appointments at all while we were on that, but since migrating to universal credit I have to provide sick notes, and telephone appointments every month I will be 66 in may next year I am on pip mobility as well. The work coach keeps saying have I received a assessment form which she askes every month as she said she sent one out in July every phone appointments she says she will chase it up this has been on going since July why do keep getting harrased every month for this I haven't received the assessment form now she is saying she will book an assessment appointment for me to attend.

If the question is why are you being harassed for something that is outside your control then I think the answer is that DWP strive to be a pain in the proverbial so that people get annoyed, go away and therefore can be chucked off of benefits. But that's just my opinion.
Arguing with them about it (not assuming you are) will not help you. The reason you are having this problem is that the WRAG (LCW under UC) was not migrated over from ESA to UC.
This issue happens where one of a couple was the main claimant under ESA and their Support Group ( (LCWRA under UC) has been migrated correctly. But the work capability outcome of the partner has not been noted as part of migration.
I would suggest that you call UC helpline 0800 328 5644 and ask for the Case Manager to look into why your LCW was not migrated over from ESA.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
It sounds like UC think you weren't actually in the work regards activity group for ESA, because that should have transferred over when you migrated and you should not be having to provide fit notes.
It would be possible they've coincidentally decided to reassess you now but even so, you wouldn't need to provide fit notes because until a reassessment says otherwise you would still be in the LCW group for UC. That would potentially mean attending some appointments etc. but not having to send in fit notes.
Do you have your ESA decision letter? And when was it, before or after April 2017? If before then you should have the LCW element in your payment (if after then no). What do your commitments say?
Unfortunately the mobility element of PIP means nothing for UC, only the daily living element would count as having LCW/RA once you are pension age.1 -
Job Centre may also be able to correct your claim. Your Work Coach should be able to check your previous ESA records with help of colleagues as necessary. The comments I post are personal opinion. Hi, huckster my work coach is saying iv never had an assessment, I told her I have she is saying there is no record of this. Which is strange they must be able to check my national insurance number 🤔huckster said:Job Centre may also be able to correct your claim. The assessment centres IT records system only goes back so far. They would have to check with ESA.
Are you getting a PIP assessment confused with ESA?
Are you 100% sure you had a work capability assessment under ESA and were placed in WRAG (LCW) ?
Presumably you can tell Job Centre and UC approximately when you had the Work Capability Assessment and where you had to attend for it. It would have been a face to face assessment at a local assessment centre. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. Being deemed LCW still means appointments, its only being deemed LCWRA that stops appointments, Jobcentres would have probably left you alone as your partner is LCWRA.
Under UC, anybody with LCW or awaiting an assessment has to have appointments.0 -
I did have an esa assessment face to face then met my partner and got married then it was put on the joint claim and the claim was in his name and he got money for me as I am his partner.huckster said:The assessment centres IT records system only goes back so far. They would have to check with ESA.

Prior to becoming part of a joint claim, were you on income related ESA? If so, it's possible that your LCW claim was closed, and with it, your LCW status. How long ago was your WCA? How long afterwards did you make a joint claim? It's possible / probable that you will need to submit a fit note and start the WCA process all over again.0

Have seen this before. ESA need to be contacted. There will be a record somewhere. The comments I post are personal opinion.
