You won't find anywhere with disabled parking unless there is already a requirement for it or possibly it is a private car parkJuzaMum said:@Ablermarle - exactly. I've just looked in my area for a weekend in May, there are no places with disabled parking, step free access to bedroom and bathroom, which is quite surprising.0 -
Be careful about cooking facilities, I think this could have an impact on your insurance. Any hot ring is going to be a H&S issue and you don't want to have to spend on fire blankets and 1st aid burns kits as well.
As long as you clearly advertise what it does have matters more.
There are lots of food delivery companies that people can use if they don't want to go out.
I think the response you got about starting small is wonderful advise.
Don't spend too much and just see what bookings & earnings you get in the first 6 months.
You can make changes based on actual feed back.0 -

It is a good point. Maybe a small microwave - mini fridge - kettle , would be safe ( assuming electrically checked ) and maybe a selling point.

Is the parking space, on a public road? I suspect it is, if you're saying it's classed as a disabled parking space. So anyone can park there, that has a blue badge. If that spot was taken, is there other accessible parking nearby?Maybe just advertise your place as step free access, unless you have dedicated parking.0

In relation to facilities etc, haven't you checked out what the "competition" is offering?1

I'd probably try it out first, advertise and get a few bookings under your belt to see if you like it before you make many physical changes both to add a separating door and to improve accessibility.1

I have large off road parking that fits airbnbs definition of disabled parkingvic_sf49 said:Is the parking space, on a public road? In fact anyone can park in a disabled marked bay on a public road, outside a house, you do not need a blue badge even.vic_sf49 said:Is the parking space, on a public road? I think the issue is that even though the council will have painted the lines on the road, it is not legally enforceable and is more a kind of moral deterrent.
In any case it seems what the OP has is a private parking space with level, easy access to the main door of the property.2 -
I am not sure about airbnb, but if you go to one of the holiday cottage websites, you can usually search for these types of properties using a filter. You should find quite a lot ( a lot more than in the past) Although only a small minority will be fully equipped, and most will just have step free access and a downstairs bedroom.JuzaMum said:
I have struggled to find anything ground floor, step free with disabled parking, so it looks like little competition. I don't know what the demand is thoughuser1977 said:In relation to facilities etc, haven't you checked out what the "competition" is offering?1
