I understand the argument that some sockets aren't opened just by the earth pin, but doesn't that also mean there's no earthly point in fitting something that holds all three open.0 -

I just happened to come across the Opti Watt ad. Here's the link and details.
Can you share *any* details about the product other than its name, which seems to not return any matches on google other than an app (related to controlling EVs and smart home energy devices) that may or may not be from the same company (but i suspect not)?Pip_cas1 said:

Without any details, it does sound like a snake oil device similar to this:

Why does the fake blogpost advertising a scam product have a picture of an EDF march in the middle?
Some strange quirk of the AI that puts these things together has found an association between the Far Right and scam energy savings products?0 -
EDF - also an energy company. AI hallucination at its best!flaneurs_lobster said:Why does the fake blogpost advertising a scam product have a picture of an EDF march in the middle?

The old adage is holds true: 'If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is'. There are also several red flags such as:-
- A fake one-day sale to pressurise you to buy without thinking it through;
- As above, fake stock levels rapidly declining;
- Allegedly developed in Manchester but the site shows American sockets and says it's shipped from the USA;
- There are no links to the Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy or Return Policy;
- There is no email address, contact address or phone number;
- Advice to wait 6-8 weeks to see results, conveniently outside the 30-day money back guarantee (Catch 22).

Optiwatt costs £34.95, sadly I bought one, complete waste of money and seems like a scam!

Definitely a scam.
Sadly you didn't find this forum before buying!
