NPC parking fine/claim form

Hi, looking for advice of defence of a private fine issued by npc in March this year. I had parked on the car park whilst at the theater, I spent at least 30mins trying to pay, via the app and then eventually by cash. The machine took my money but issued no ticket or confirmation so I assumed it registered and the cameras would know I paid, anyway I assumed wrong and I got a fine. I've ignored all correspondence (after reading the newbies thread I now understand a complaint would have been the best action) until I recieved a claim letter this week. I've thought about paying the fine due the anxiety that I will most likely feel if I have to defend myself at court but I'm adamant that I paid. So, I've responded via the portal and have acknowledged the claim and have advised I intend to defend in full. I have altered the defence template but my main worry is I have very little evidence of payment on the night, I have witness (family members) and I've seen a lot of reviews from Google that report similar issues with the exact machine/ car park but naively didn't take photos of any sort on the day, how do you think this will hold up? I have not submitted my defence as yet. Any thoughts/advice appreciated.

If this is a DCB Legal claim (?) you won't need evidence because they'll discontinue in 2026. You just have to play the game until then.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And their usual MO is also to discontinue claims before hearings.
Surely you searched the forum for threads about them before you replied to me? Don't wait for us to reply piecemeal. This is nothing new. Search the forum & learn.
That is how the forum works best. Get off your little thread page (a drop in the ocean) and open the much bigger book and start reading threads like yours.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Excellent ! Good news all around then, the £207 can go towards my bigger plans to buy a 3 birth caravan. I'm looking at the coachman vip 525. They're superbly water tight. I have a medium to long-term plan to travel Europe to sample the different times of tinned fish. Thank you for everything you've done for me and all of the other people you've supported.
