Santander £200 Switch Offer 10/11/25-TBC

so they’re not actually going to start the switch for another 60 days?

No, the switch will start today (or probably Monday) and complete around 9 or 10 days later.
60 days from today Santander will assess your account for your eligibility for the switching cash.
So in 60 days they'll check:
- that you have 2 active direct debits set up on the account,
- that both direct debits are from their approved list,
- that you've moved your £1,500 cash across (either all together or in batches - you can remove it as soon as you want to, it doesn't need to stay there),
- and that you've not previously received switching cash from them in the past.
If you're deemed eligible they'll then pay you your bonus within 30 days.

thanks for your help, I understand, I thought them checking the “eligibility” was checking the eligibility of opening my account/ starting the switch, not the eligibility of getting the offer itself

Read through the terms of the offer, I find it best to print them out and tick off each part of the offer as you do it.
You probably won't hear anything from them again until 60 days from today when they assess your account, unless there's an issue with the switch which is unlikely.
What bank are you switching your current account from over to Santander? Not all banks are part of CASS (current account switch service).

Lloyds, just after i got their switch bonus 😬

Yes, that's fine. The Santander switch process is less complicated than the Lloyds one. With Lloyds the direct debits have to be set up before the switch and have to each have at least one debit taken from them. That's probably what caused your confusion.
None of that is needed with Santander.

yes that’s definitely what’s caused me to think that, thanks again for your patience

for the £1500 needing to be paid in, is there anything stopping you from moving £500 to and from 3 times? Or does the full £1500 have to be in the account at once

Either is fine.
