Vinted unilaterally changed clothing sizes this morning without warning

I only sell on eBay and all my listings are 'no returns' (obviously not SNAD).Momogeew said:
Of course they should but i'll bet there are a lot that don't, for various reasons, and yes, there must be sellers that are always having to accept returns and/or refunds because of it.Pollycat said:
Everybody should read past the headline size.Momogeew said:I have experienced this, very, thing over the past week or so.
The seller tells us what size the garment's label is but the Vinted system says something different.
This is a good example ....
For people that don't read past the headline size guide they'll buy something that they could want to return back to the seller, giving both parties an unsatisfactory experience.
If people actually buy in this way, no wonder there are complaints.
I've only had one poor experience with Vinted purchases and that was because the description - which I read carefully - was a total lie.
My searches are for clothes size 12-14.
I've changed my search criteria since the Vinted change.
Even though I now get the right sizes come up in my searches I still read the description and view the photos because size 12 doesn't fit but size 14 does.
If there is no specific size in the description or photos, I dismiss it.
I have rejected return requests when buyers complain without valid reasons.
To reiterate ... anyone who buys something without knowing what they're buying is stupid.

Once again, i completely agree with you but i know of, quite a few, individuals whose intellect is such that they buy without reading further than the images and the first line of text !Pollycat said:

I get quite a few 'non readers' I find Vinted is bad for that. In the past year or so I've had someone open a case for a clearly marked green item, when they thought it was blue . I've had people buy small bits of household ornaments and want to return them as they didn't notice the vase was say a bud vase at 4 inches and not the 8 inch vase they actually wanted.
i routinely get questions about measurements or colours, even when my description clearly states both - and sometimes it's even in the title . I can have a title that says 'brand x blue widget flower pattern' and get messages asking what colour it is or what brand. I've also moaned on here that even with measurements I get complaints, I cut and paste the measurements in the description when size is queried - only to get questions like- 'but how big is it as it needs to go nicely in the alcove in my dining room', when i queried this once with a buyer they were quite abrupt, saying not everyone keeps a tape measure in the house and an idea of how big something is should be stated more clearly.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. That's reminded me.....some time ago now, i asked for a measurement and the seller was quite hostile and said how should they know, they didn't have anything to measure with.
I asked if they had a ruler, or maybe a rigid tape measure for DIY etc.....nope, no further reply.
I was buying a cardigan - clothing/footwear doesn't go by universal sizing so saying it's a Medium was no help 🤷0 -
Some brands don't do size 10,12 etc but size small, medium etc.Momogeew said:That's reminded me.....some time ago now, i asked for a measurement and the seller was quite hostile and said how should they know, they didn't have anything to measure with.

I know I'm a medium in Lands End tunics/dresses, Next coats etc.
If the item was sized 'medium', it makes sense to list it as 'medium'.
I wouldn't have replied in a hostile way but if I didn't have a measure, there would be little more I could do.
Maybe you were the 10th person to ask for measurements...🤔
I buy clothes from charity shops and always have a tape measure in my bag as I don't trust brand sizing.
I have 2 Next dresses, exactly the same style & fabric.
The 10 is bigger than the 14.2 -
Yup, i've had their jeans - size 8 bigger than the 12 🙄🤷😠Pollycat said:

Good idea. After I lost masses of weight I’ve bought loads of clothes on eBay and charity shops. I saw a lovely jacket on Vinted and the only size indication was large. When I got the jacket and tried it on it was a bit small. I checked the label and it was medium. As it hadn’t cost much I gave it to my favourite charity shop where I’ve had loads of bargains.pattycake said:I am very careful about sizing when I buy from Vinted. I like to see a photo of the actual size label. I’m also aware of the variations in sizing across different brands and now only buy what I’m fairly sure will fit me.1 -
I don't buy anything - from Vinted or eBay - without seeing the size label.Murphybear said:

If it says S, M, L, I see if I've got anything from the same brand in my wardrobe.
If not, I check the brand website.
Or similar listings for more detailed size information.
Or I ask for specific measurements.
Of course, I only do the above if it's an item I intend to buy.
I guess that why I've had very little purchase mishaps.
You could have returned the item under SNAD but you would have had to pay the cost of return.2
