why dont you pick up a phone, call the store and "talk" to someone instead of moaning about how annoyed you will be?

having read other threads relating to argos there doesn't seem to be any point as phones don't seem to be answered and if they've gone so quickly (as the stock update only happened at about 10am this morning which is when I reserved mine) it's probably already been sold or has been put by for an employee as seems to happen quite frequently. And as I work, I can't spend hours on the phone in an automated system before talking to someone who says that they can't check anyway. But it's all ok as I went into the argos near my work on my lunch break and they're getting some in tonight so I've reserved one and I can pick it up before work tomorrow so no-one else will be able to get their grubby mitts on it...

Also I thought the internet meant that we didn't have to actually "speak" to people any more...
:D**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

Your post is just excuses. i have rung plenty of stores and ring often (my partner works in Argos stores and has moved around a fair bit) i can safely say i have NEVER come across an automated system. The phone will ring in the general office. Occasionally it doesnt get answered, but compared to the likes of B&Q/homebase, Argos are excellent.

No. The argos website is designed to extract your money as fast and as easily as possible. Fullstop. Argos would love it to work 100% of the time, but it can still go wrong.
  • it did happen to me 2, i reserved items that were apparently in stock with the greeen tick on the website

someone went to the store for me, they said they hadnt been delivered :mad:
no idea what was meant by that, wish i had gone myself now to see if i could get them again as they are and still are hard to find, so im betting the staff nicked the 2 i reserved

surely some people do have reservations that are successful
i was ill over xmas so was online surfing for bargains to pick up about 3 days later when i was better, one thing i ordered in the sale had a reservation expiry of the next day rolleyes.gif
i ended up missing that cos i spent the whole day in bed cos i felt worse, had one successful reservation over the whole of xmas and new year and even then i couldn't get on the car park so had to pay and display over the road and ended up waiting about 20 mins for my item (thats not unusual at one local store (other one smaller but much quicker, trouble is they run out of stuff and send you to hell- the other store)
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester.. ;)
