Zopa mistake

Nope. This is the only change that has affected me. HMRC are well aware of this situation and replied to Zopa in late October saying they had received the correct updated information but that didn't stop them issuing an incorrect code in December (to me and many others apparently) and as of last weeks pay still incorrect.Dazed_and_C0nfused said:
Ther should be no reason why you need to provide information like that to HMRC.johnbhoy70 said:That's me done i think. As stated previously they upped my original offer from £125 to £130 and they responded earlier in the day and increased my wife's to £125 from the original £100. Why there is a £5 difference in the offers for 2 identical cases i don't know but i've had enough of Zopa for now without trying to understand their logic.
Now onto HMRC and i'm going to try and upload a certificate of interest for said tax year as proof it was an error. They've already known this since October by all accounts but the wheels seem to turn very slowly at HMRC.
As others have previously posted HMRC are well aware of this issue and have no reason not to accept what you (verbally) tell them.
Is it possible that this has coincided with some other change to your tax situation and the code now in place is in fact correct?0 -
Just to update - I called HMRC this week. The agent had indeed received comms about the Zopa issue. They said they're working on correcting records for those affected (can't recall hearing any specific timeline), but that if customers get in contact they will refer their case on to the resolution team. Still waiting to see if I get a phone call, but in the meantime my tax code and calculation were updated and look okay. Perhaps that's it sorted?

My pay for later this week is visible now and my tax code has reverted to what it was before so i think i'm good now. As stated previously i had already decided to accept their compensation offer.spherical_badger said:Just to update - I called HMRC this week. The agent had indeed received comms about the Zopa issue. I was also affected by this - very late comms from Zopa, numerous phone calls to HMRC.
I complained to the Ombudsman and was awarded £300 compensation. Zopa originally offered a paltry £60.
I suggest compleining, it's dead easy and there must be consequences for Zopa.
