Hi everyone, I am with Octopus energy, my current deal runs out late December. I've just done a comparison on Uswitch ( cheap energy club broke )There are 2 tariffs that I was interested in from Outfox energy
Outfox Energy Fix'd Dual Nov25 12M v2.0 - Family Advantage+
Outfox Energy Fix'd Dual Nov25 12M v2.0 -
There is a small difference in price and name, anyone know what the family advantage + means. Thanks for any advice

Having a search it does not show up, neither can I find it if I look at their website or try to get a quote. Is it a referral link tariff? What does the tariff information section say if you expand that?cherryade44 said:Hi everyone, I am with Octopus energy, my current deal runs out late December. Shows on OFTM website for my region. looks like OFTM have copied Ecotricity, ultra high gas SC 53.45 per day, low unit rate 4.66p per kWh - Outfox Energy Fix'd Dual Nov25 12M v2.0 - Family Advantage+1

Many thanks for the replies. On the Uswitch site , i clicked on filters and chose " include plans that require switching directly through suppliers website" Outfox then appears.
Sorry if this sounds daft but when using a comparison site should i be inputting my current tariff details or the one Octopus will soon move me to if I do nothing. According to Octopus the cheapest fixed deal they are offering when my current deal expires is £21 per month more expensive
Thanks1 -
Your annual kWh usage you put into comparison site ( do not tick low, medium, high usage) do your own sums with Octopus fixed deal offered when your current deal expires. ( or put same kWh usage into Octopus quote page for new customers)cherryade44 said:.

Hello again, I am currently several hundred pounds in credit with Octopus energy. If I left and went to Outfox energy what would happen not being in credit with them as winter approaches. Would they over charge so I was in credit for all winter , hope this makes sense , cheers0

As long as you've given Outfox Energy your actual annual usage in kWh, and not pounds, they should calculate your monthly DD as an average over 12 months.cherryade44 said:Hello again, I am currently several hundred pounds in credit with Octopus energy. Not necessarily. As eluded in the query, your account is expected to remain in credit throughout the year. As we're approaching the more expensive period of the year I would suspect the original DD to be higher the 1/12th of expected annual cost.luci said:

Thanks for the replies. I emailed them explaining I was thinking of joining them from Octopus and got a reply saying the email used wasn't associated with Outfox and to use the mail associated with my accounr

You could well be waiting up to 8 weeks for your credit refund from Octopus and will need to start paying Outfox straightaway for their predicted monthly direct debit based on your annual usage figure you give them when you do the switch. I left E.On Next well over 3 weeks ago and still no final bill even though they updated my account with the final meter readings ages ago. I've since had my first bill from my new supplier.cherryade44 said:Hello again, I am currently several hundred pounds in credit with Octopus energy. It sounds like they didn't read your email properly or misinterpreted it and assumed you were a new customer and sent that reply when they entered your email into their system and it didn't match with any account.cherryade44 said:Thanks for the replies.
