We are currently buying a house. The address isn't listed on any comparison sites or postcode finder.
It's currently an Airbnb so not paying council tax.
Could this be the reason?

Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!

They should be paying either council tax or business rates so either way you’d expect them to be registered somewhere? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
No, commercial properties still have postal addresses. Either you're looking up the "wrong" address or perhaps it has never been a separate post-receiving property in its own right (e.g. an annexe to another property?). What sort of house are we talking about?2

Sure it hasn't e.g. changed its name at some point? Have you looked up the rating valuation roll to see what they call it? Have you asked the agents? What does the EPC call it?0

Which comparison sites, energy? Or are you looking for previous house prices, like Zoopla?0 -
It was purchased by the owner in 2003, on the register of the title it has the same name.user1977 said:Sure it hasn't e.g. changed its name at some point? Have you looked up the rating valuation roll to see what they call it? Have you asked the agents? What does the EPC call it?
It has the same name on the valuation roll as what it is called now.
The EPC also bears the name as to what it is now.

Are you in a position to print off all the addresses that are listed for the postcode then visit the area to check if all of them correspond to an actual property - if you find an address that doesn't have a property attached to it then that's probably yours.0 -
And those have a postcode? But the address is no longer one of those listed by Royal Mail under that postcode?northwest1965 said:

Ignore comparison sites, they have no legal standing.
It is extremely unlikely that the property does not have or has not had an entry either in the CT Valuation List or the Non Domestic Rating List.
With regard to the postcode, it may have a unique postcode or may have been given an erroneous geographic one.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1
