Refund for online US purchase

I made an online purchase from a US company and regretted it within an hour. I contacted the company immediately and asked to cancel the goods. In less than a day from the time I placed the order they are offering me a refund of 35% of the purchase price. Surely this isn’t correct. I don’t believe the  goods can have been shipped yet.
Please help.

If you're buying online from a UK company then you do have the right to cancel like that, but those legal protections don't apply to purchases from other countries, so you need to check the Ts & Cs and the relevant laws in the jurisdiction in which the company is based, usually state-specific.

Generally speaking US consumer protection is very low compared to ours, but it will depend on the company terms and conditions and the laws in the state they are based in

Time for a search for the consumer rights for online purchases in that state.

Have you actually read the company Ts and Cs yourself?

I wouldn't hold out too much hope of a full refund.

    Neither would I.

If you were to rank all the states' consumer rights in order, California would be top and Delaware at or very near the bottom.
There is a reason why many online sellers in the US choose to be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Delaware.

All products purchased through the Cartpanda platform come with a 30-day money-back guarantee for physical products and a 7-day money-back guarantee for digital products. Some products may offer an extended refund period, so we encourage all customers to review the product's sales page or label for specific policies. However, if a customer is not fully satisfied with their purchase for any reason within the specified period (30 days for physical products and 7 days for digital products), we will promptly provide them with a return address to facilitate a full refund or exchange.

So are they trying to pull a fast one by only  offering me 35% refund. Anyone any good on giving me something to reply with in legalise?

Is it a digital or physical product? If physical, don't you have to return it first?

It’s a physical product. As I asked to cancel within an hour of ordering I haven’t received the product and I wouldn’t have thought they’ve sent it yet.

It doesn't matter what their terms state if they don't intend to honour them and you have no legal means to force then to do so.

You could gamble on reinstating the order, receiving the item and then return it, but I don't think that's wise because there's too much that could go wrong and you could end up more out of pocket.

What's the sum involved here?  It may be worth chalking it up to experience and accepting their offer.
