I tried a switch to Eon Next Drive last night and had an email first thing this morning to say they have objected to the switch.bagand96 said:All you can do is try a switch. It may well get blocked, seen reports on the Facebook group of switches being blocked from the start of the week. It may the the case that Tomato have been instructed to stop switches as the SoLR process starts.

You'll be transferred to a new supplier automatically – don't switch just yetLife in the slow lane2 -
In fairness that's always the advice. However people have successfully got ahead of an SoLR transfer in the past rather than sit and wait on an unknown tariff. It's especially understandable in this case with people on ToU tariffs who will have EVs, Heat Pumps etc.born_again said:

Nothing to lose by trying, although it seems Tomato are objecting to switches.

You wouldn’t have thought it could object, given it’s effectively disappeared.bagand96 said:

A switch cannot be initiated while another switch is in progress, so it is possible that a bulk transfer is already in the works.silvercar said:

Certain parts of the business will still be functioning, likely on a skeleton staff, the accounts and billing systems etc will still need to be live, they won't just be unplugged because accounts will need reconciling.silvercar said:

Or as @masonic has said the bulk switch may have already started, although there were reports of Tomato blocking switches from last weekend.0 -
I initiated a switch to Octopus on 5th Nov - that got blocked by Tomato - my account is up to date, other folk have been reporting issues in the couple days leading up to the 5th Nov announcement. In previous SOLR situations I have been able to switch after failure of the company but before the SOLR was appointed although switches took longer back then. What I did see that not been reported is on 5th November Ofgem themselves started debt recovery legal proceedings against Tomato https://caseboard.io/cases/db022c8d-cbfc-44e7-a3b2-2008bc521b8a. My own view is that is a deliberate act by outgoing management team as 2 fingers job at the regulator and I am sure that Senapt which is not in administration and controls all the back end systems / billing data will be less than helpful and make the SOLR process as painful as possible.1

What I find a little odd is there is not yet any notification from the administrators. There's a notice on their website that they are ceasing to trade, but that's it. Creditors will surely be wanting an update and to submit their proof of debt forms.
Well spotted. This was probably what the NOI was intended to delay.JohnPo said:What I did see that not been reported is on 5th November Ofgem themselves started debt recovery legal proceedings against Tomato https://caseboard.io/cases/db022c8d-cbfc-44e7-a3b2-2008bc521b8a. Given that Tomato filed another 'Notice of intention to appoint...' yesterday, there may still be some debate going on with the planned administrators...masonic said:What I find a little odd is there is not yet any notification from the administrators. Filing a Notice to appoint an administrator gives a 10 working days moratorium on all creditor claims. This is the 3rd one they have issued in succession which is really 'iffy'. I think we can conclude all along these guys were playing 'fast and loose' but even in 'death throws' of the company that behaviour continues.0
