Is this RWG PAYG as ideal as it sounds?

The idea is to keep my daughter's mobile number 'live' while she is away travelling. I moved it to Lebara as that was well priced, and I use them myself, but she now ain't coming back for the best part of another year, so I'm paying out a few squid pm for now't.
Is this deal really pay as little as one quid, and it remains until used?
Cheers.

I tried them for my emergency phone.  If you don't make a call/text from the phone every now and again, they'll disconnect it.  I made sure to use it each month.

    Minimum top up is £5.
Credit never expires, but you have to make a chargable call every 3 months to keep sim active.
Its 5p a min ,so 5p every 3 months you have to spend

Got my SIM 06/22, backup phone, it's been topped up with 2x£5 since then, test it once a month by sending/receiving a SMS. All good.

You'd need to activate that SIM and I think that'll cost you a fiver top-up (where are you seeing a quid?), then use it at least every 3 months.

    Thanks, all.
Does it make that clear anywhere? Any would they provide an advance warning before disconnection?
FlanLobst, it's in the dropdown menu - "PAYG SIM with £1 credit"

    37. You must make an outbound call or text in any 90-day period for your SIM to remain active. If you don't do this, the SIM will enter a restricted state which means you will only be able to receive inbound calls and texts. If this happens you can contact our customer service team to reactivate the SIM. If you do not make at least one chargeable call or send one chargeable SMS/MMS every six months (in either case that results in a charge against your Account or a deduction from the credit or bundle allowance recorded against your Account), then we may terminate this Agreement by giving you 30 days’ notice in writing that your Account will be closed and your SIM Card deactivated. If we send you such a notice, we will close your Account and deactivate your SIM Card at the end of the 30-day period. This will mean that you can no longer use the Services and you will not be able to make or receive calls (though you will still be able to dial 999) or send or receive text messages. If we close your Account under this paragraph 7 h), you will not be entitled to a refund of any unused credit or Allowances.
In my experience they don't give any warning.
I was able to call them up when this happened to me, and get the SIM re-activated, but recent posts about RWG have indicated it can be hard to get in touch with them.
I have a recurring occurrence in my online calendar every 2 months to do an outbound text to keep my SIM alive, and since doing that I haven't had any problem.

Never had a warning message about disconnection but you get a grace period (at least a month) where you can't use the SIM but the service will be reconnected if you contact them (I've used email, never taken more than a day to reconnect).

Just diarise a test text every month or so, costs 5p.

Sounds ideal, folks - thank you.
Should I first request a PAC from Lebara? And then apply to RWG?

Here is the link, they used to do a sim with no credit for free which you could use for incoming calls and texts to test the service. They then changed to £1 for a sim with £1 credit.
    https://www.rwgmobile.wales/webshop/offers/order-a-sim/

Once you start using it you need to make a call (which is either answered or goes to voicemail) or send a text before 90 days.if you miss that the phone will be restricted to incoming calls only and you have a further 90 days to contact customer service to get the restriction removed. It's best not to chance this in all honesty. So you could keep the number active on a £1 topup for about 5 years.
As a (very) budget operator it is advisable to waste 5p checking the service by making a call before porting your number, especially if you've not been on an ee based network in your area before. And I certainly wouldn't give them a pac before you physically have the sim in your hand.
