Compensation for missed connection in EU

Hi All,
Has anyone have any experience of dealing with Iberia. I'm wondering if it's worth claiming.
I had a through ticket with Iberia from Jerez via Madrid to London on 31.10.2025. The flight was delayed at Jerez and arrived in Madrid nearly 2.5 hours late, so I missed my connection to London.
Iberia supplied a hotel and dinner vouchers and I was put on flight the following day, arriving in London a day late.
I had a look at their compensation application and there is no mention of missed connections as a category for compensation. I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

The basis of your claim would be compensation for delayed arrival at your destination, rather than the missed connection as such, but whether or not it's payable will depend on the reason for the delay, i.e. it only applies if it's deemed to be something within the airline's control, as opposed to extraordinary circumstances such as air traffic control restrictions, etc.0
