See you in 6 months when you get a local court hearing date. No posts about the standard first letters, tedious solicitors email, N180 form or Mediation please. Spare us, thanks! See the 8 steps.

Do you want to discontinue your counterclaim though? Was it strongly pleaded in law?

What's in it for you? Looks like there is nothing of any value to you in this idea, given that you knew all along that DCB Legal will discontinue the claim itself anyway.

Depends how robust your counterclaim was and what exactly you pleaded for ... I never read back on threads, I just hop in & out!

I claimed for a day off to go to court and travelling costs £250
Defendants dont counterclaim or pay for those,  they add a fee costs assessment in with the Witness Statement bundle before the hearing date,  if it gets that far

Nobody mentioned adding a counterclaim to your defence submission in the replies in this thread

I claimed for a day off to go to court and travelling costs £250 in total.
If they are offering to close the claim that's a win for me.
Just surprised it came so quick.
    Oh dear.

A doomed and totally unnecessary counterclaim. You wasted your £35 because those costs could have been obtained at a hearing anyway. You don't counterclaim.

  • Oh ok. Does this change anything from what they are offering?
  • Does the £35 not get returned?

No. Your cc needs withdrawing. We'd never have told you to do it. Money down the drain!
