O2 PUFFL tariff - cannot send texts
Anyone else on O2 PUFFL struggling to send texts?
I have an old 2G phone (upgraded to a 4G compatible SIM card a few years back when they were replacing them), but can no longer receive texts.
I have checked the message centre number is correct, this was working up until last week. Outgoing texts and calls in and out are fine.
Have just tried the SIM in a different 2G phone - exactly the same result.
Any ideas? Should I find a 4G phone to test? Has 2G begun to be wound down already??

PUFFL was apparently discontinued in 2023 and everybody was moved to another tariff which has since been replaced with something else that apparently now includes annual prices rises, though nothing + 3.9% (or whatever) is still nothing so...This is not a 2G thing. o2 are switching 3G off as are most other providers, but 2G is not affected at this time and any legacy 2G devices should continue to work for the foreseeable future.0

Whilst 2G isn't being switched, customers are being migrated away from 2G so that it is reserved for emergency calls and machine to machine data.Neil_Jones said:PUFFL was apparently discontinued in 2023 and everybody was moved to another tariff which has since been replaced with something else that apparently now includes annual prices rises, though nothing + 3.9% (or whatever) is still nothing so...This is not a 2G thing. o2 are switching 3G off as are most other providers, but 2G is not affected at this time and any legacy 2G devices should continue to work for the foreseeable future.
When the plans were announced O2 had the most 2G customers (still only 1%) and so had most to migrate.
O2 began this process last year, any remaining business customers were migrated earlier this year, from last month it was no longer possible to do incoming or outgoing roaming on O2 2G. Consumers will be migrated in due course. Tesco are migrating their 2G customers as part of the shut down of their old plans and the change to Essentials.
The other operators had so few 2G only customers (in the case of Three, zero) that it happened naturally during the 3G switch off and there was no need to take other action.
That's not to say the I know the OP has been migrated, there are lots of things this could be. As you rightly say it might be a tariff issue.0
