Its a Letter,  not an email,  the timescales are beyond your control but can be a couple of months or more

Keep checking your MCOL claim history to see when its been posted

The whole saga will be over a while before Xmas,  probably in summer

Thank you - Will let you know how things go... assuming I've not died of old age by the time the letter comes

Hi - So, I have now received this from DCB Legal:

"Having reviewed the content of your defence, we write to inform you that our client intends to proceed with the claim.

In due course, the Court will direct both parties to each file a directions questionnaire. In preparation for that, please find attached a copy of the Claimant's, which we confirm has been filed with the Court.

Without Prejudice to the above, in order to assist the Court in achieving its overriding objective, our client may be prepared to settle this case - in the event you wish to discuss settlement, please call us on ****** within 7 days and make immediate reference to this correspondence.

If you have provided an email address within your Defence, we intend to use it for service of documents (usually in PDF format) hereon in pursuant to PD 6A (4.1)(2)(c). Please advise whether there are any limitations to this (for example, the format in which documents are to be sent and the maximum size of attachments that may be received). Unless you advise otherwise, we will assume not"

What should I now do in terms of mediation and contacting them regarding "settlement"? - I still haven't received any other correspondence via mail, and I just want to be sure I'm doing the right thing.

    Many thanks in advance

You don't contact them. You wait for an appt for The Mandatory Mediation which is carried out by Small Claims Mediation Service.

As said in that letter "In due course, the Court will direct both parties to each file a directions questionnaire."

You'll receive your DQ by post from CNBC it gets recorded in your MCOL claim history when it's sent. It tells you all this and how to complete it in the First 8 Steps Template defence thread. Keep referring back to the 8 steps if your unsure.

Previous post was deleted by the OP at my request, removed as it's nothing new (DCB Legal template reply). We don't need to see that template reply. We never need to see or discuss the stuff in the 8 steps.

Keeps the thread more concise this way. Carry on with the 8 steps.
