According to their postcode checker I can get VM Fibre broadband but I'm not in a traditional VM Cable area, does this mean they'll simply use the overhead telephone pole fibre installed by Openreach. If that is the case can I assume that an ONT will need to be installed too?

They won't use Openreach fibre but can use an Openreach pole or duct to run their own fibre.0
