On me using it to operate an oil-filled, I should emphasise that it's a 2.4kW jobbie, and I have it on setting 2 - 2kW.I would never use such a device to power a full 3kW. Ever.1

Following your previous comment, I did a quick google.WIAWSNB said:Albermarle said:
You can still buy them from reputable retailers, so I presume they must be pretty safe.WIAWSNB said:Not sure I'd be happy to leave a motorised timer running when away - I imagine it carries a greater risk of overheating on motor failure than a digi one?Yes, I'm sure they are.I've never had one completely fail or overheat, but have seen a few become noisy and unreliable.
There were a few comments that it was best not to use them ( digital or analogue) on high power appliances/to their limit. Some seem to be rated at 13A and some only at 10A
So probably a 2KWh heater would be a top limit and probably best not to have the thermostat on full.1 -
They used to make them with timers which someone lent me during the beast from the east when I had no heating.
It was brilliant for the bedroom but sadly they no longer have them.
There are some though https://www.amazon.co.uk/Schallen-Convector-Adjustable-Thermostat-Protection/dp/B00D8WZ1O2?th=1I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I'd personally be 'happy' to use the built-in timer on a branded heater, especially if it's no more than - ooh - 2.4kW.

Clearing out came to a stop because of torrential rain and freezing temperatures.
Hopefully tomorrow I can get to it. Already so much better.
Last one is a curly extension lead. Really useful as sockets are set in corners of this tiny place so taking plugs in and out very awkward. These can be left in place, just switched off.
You can no longer buy them ready to go but you can still buy the curly flex.
Would it be fine for me to buy the flex and attach my own plug and socket? Can't see why not but wonder why they no longer come ready to go.
Thanks everyone for your advice so far. Probably all the stuff for servicing the car. Think half the stuff isn't relevant any more.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Extension cables are the biggest cause of fires for various reasons, if you need them I would suggest when not using them keep them in a draw or cupboard rather than plugged in.1
