And they regularly get fined for failing to meet those USOs, the fines are likely cheaper than the cost of meeting them.
Their performance is pretty dire and getting worse.  Below are the latest figures adjusted for out of their control factors
    • Achieved 77% against a target of 93%, for First Class mail, meaning 16 percentage points below the First Class target.
    • Achieved 92.5% against a target of 98.5%, for Second Class mail, meaning 6 percentage points below the Second Class target.

  • We have noticed we are not getting post on a regular basis BUT we seem to get a load of letters delivered at once as if they are holding on to them till they have enough to make it worth their while to do their rounds ,not right but the PO seems to be going downhill fast.

Probably lack of staff and having fo alternate delivery areas on different days.

We were told recently the lack of deliveries was because of difficulty recruiting staff.

Post office don't deliver or sort letters, royal mail does.
Much of my lunch breaks are spent queuing in a post office which backs onto a delivery office and hearing the post office staff telling customers they need to try royal mail next door about deliveries.

I hate to brag but Maltapost is how Royal Mail used to be. A stamp to the UK is 57 cents. I feel your pain.
