Anyone looking for a free photo editor plus other things (From the web site..."Affinity comes with built-in Vector, Pixel, and Layout studios", Affinity's latest version is now free for Windows and Mac.

    Had a look and there was a lot of fluff rather than what it did.
    Also 27 trackers blocked from just opening the link and going for reject all equivalent.

    I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

    Actually it is a good competitor for Photoshop, there are YT video on the new version, but the AI bits do not work unless you pay for a Canva sub. 
    Free Canva is available, but no AI
    Reviews reckon the AI is carp anyway

    I was recommended a simple editor called Gimp.
    I was reluctant to search for that because I wondered if it was a joke but it's a thing. The site was so woolly in its front page my eyes crossed trying to work it out.

    Gimp is a struggle to learn from zero, there is a "patch" called Photogimp, which looks like Photoshop, so if you know PS then you could use Gimp + the patch

    or just use free affinity and YT tutorials

    It was free years ago - then they started charging (I have both versions) now it is free again. 
    I use it from time to time and does what I want

    It was previously 3 separate programmes/apps (Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher).
    Don't remember them ever being free outside of beta versions & limited time trials.
