I'd be curious if the VIN checks out, OP. Do they all match on the vehicle, with no signs of tampering? Do they also check out with the VIN held for the vehicle by the DVLA.
It's quite a high threshold for a vehicle to be written off scrap value only, and even for crooks, would take a fair amount of effort to get it to level a where it could be considered for retailing. For a relatively low value car like this.
Must be a chance at least that the plate might be linked to a different actual vehicle, that was virtually destroyed.1 -
Tend to agree about the effort required to get a scrap value only write off going again and selling for only £2795.Altior said:I'd be curious if the VIN checks out, OP. I would think that's quite a good chance since the DVLA told the OP that the vehicle with that registration has already been destroyed.Altior said:I'd be curious if the VIN checks out, OP. So the physical vehicle that the OP bought might actually be a cat S.Alderbank said:

It wouldn't be a magic wand, but would give the OP more options. Assuming they won't be getting a full refund or compensation.0
