British Gas, Collective Nov26

I spent some hours queried (via email) both and both had referred me to the other. When I raised a complaint and asked either of them to do the switch same thing had happened and they said they will close the complaint. I will now take it to the Ombudsman as even asking BG to request the switch from OE, they have asked me to ask OE..

Ombudsman cannot take on my case, although both BG and OE have closed their complaint, as neither stated 'final response' so I have to wait 8 weeks.BG and OE are both debiting me for gas (I may get a refund later) both claims they cannot do anything with the Switch request. Is there anything I can do so I only pay one lot of gas and get my gas switch over to BG on the agreed tariff : British Gas, Collective Nov26?

It says my current supplier is with OE but it should be with BG. Both asking me to contact the other to request the switch. Should BG be able to request the switch from OE? (as that is my understanding but BG states I need to request OE to do it)QrizB said:20122013 said:BG and OE are both debiting me for gas (I may get a refund later) both claims they cannot do anything with the Switch request. BG should be leading on your switch, Octopus can't "push" you onto a different supplier.20122013 said:... but it should be with BG. Both asking me to contact the other to request the switch. What gas tariff were BG offering? Was it significantly better than Octopus's current deals?OE's fixed gas tariffs vary by region, but for me (Southern) thy're currently asking for 5.57p/kWh and 32.52p/day. on Octopus 12M Fixed November 2025 v2. (There was a cheaper v3 yesterday, but that's now closed).Flexible is 6.36p/kWh and the same 32.52p/day.Or of course there's Gas Tracker, currently 5.06p/kWh and 32.52p/day but that's the opposite of a fix inasmuch as it changes daily.N. This is the BG tariff I had requested to be on:BRITISH GASTariff type: Fixed*Tariff start date: 17 October 2025
Tariff end date: 16 December 2026
Payment method:
Direct Debit
Exit fees: £50 per fuel
Gas unit rate: 5.35p per kWh
Gas standing charge: 21.71p per dayand I should have switch out but still on Octopus 15M Fixed
Octopus 15M Fixed September 2024 v3
Ending 02/01/2026
5.69p/kWh
29.95p/day
(All rates inc. VAT)I am aware of the £50 Exit fee per fuel. I hope I am correct, BG is cheaper? From what I understand BG cannot back date me to this tariff as I was not switched to it when it was available. It will take the EO 8 weeks to look into this matter, I am wondering whether I should take on the new fixed deal with OE.OE has emailed me this on 14 November :If I understood EO's new tariffs, the fixed one is cheaper and give me a peace of mind as it is fixed?
Octopus 12M FixedOctopus 12M Fixed is our fixed price tariff.

Good to know: the prices for this tariff are current as of when this email was sent, but could be different if you decide to fix at a later date (as these rates are subject to changes in wholesale energy prices).Octopus 12M Fixed Gas Daily charge 33.61 p/day Unit rate 5.95 p/kWh
