Leaving Virgin 26th November, but....

We barely use the 'bundle' of TV services which was going up substantially if renewed. We only wanted to retain Broadband [so it wouldn't mess up emails], and landline services. They quoted me £60 [sixty] pounds per month for a service which is being quoted for less than £30 for new customers. Ideally I'd like to stay for these basic services as life is complicated enough, and have thought of seeing if they'll offer the 'new customer' deal  - maybe they know they've got me by the whatsits - or possibly going for the new customer deal in the wife's name. I know the emails will stay available for 3 months, but again, it would be nice to keep the same email address. Question is, has anyone else re-joined Virgin after leaving to take advantage of the new customer offer[s] ??

This sort of problem shows the wisdom of having an email address independent of your isp so that you never have any aggro when changing.

Yes we have done it twice the past (most recent 2 years ago) and signed back up as a new customer. As long as not whoever is on the contract now signs up i.e. you switch between you and your wife, it should be fine. In both cases, I got the account moved over to the new contract to keep the email addresses etc. One of the times was a bit of hassle though, as often with these things, it depends on who you get in CS,

I also would not sweat it yet, you are likely to get a call from outbound retentions and you can negotiate then for what you want. We decided to scrap our tv and phone back in August and only keep the BB, the agent from outbound retentions was able to sort it and just kept 250mb for £19 per month.
