Time to did out your current ISP's Ts and Cs.

With a lot of providers you can leave without penalty in the last 30 days but you need to check.

I had a look and I couldn't see anything about switching away a few days early penalty free. Its Sky Broadband that I am speaking about here.

It normally takes a couple of weeks for the new provider to give a new start date. I know it used to be a couple of weeks grace if you started a switch early, but it may have changed.

I've switched today(away from BT). The new ISP are dealing with the switch and have timed installation to take place so there is no penalty. 37 days to go and BT soon sent me an email to say what it would cost if I left today.

You will just pay the usual amount for the final month and get no pro rata refund for the days after the early switch but before the final month finishes if you leave Sky a few days early.
