Is the London location the Royal Courts of Justice? Cases seem to be getting transferred here to help clear the backlog from nearby courts such as Watford and Bromley.

You will not have a hearing because DCB Legal will discontinue this Friday. The case would never stand up in front of a judge.

I wouldn't be so sure that this will be discontinued - an identical case went all the way to a hearing last year. I was there for the Defendant. The judge's opening remarks to the claimant's rep were "this is an extraordinary case to bring", but that didn't deter the rep in the slightest.

Well…

As @Coupon-mad had said that DCBL with withdraw - they did exactly that this morning. Received the N279 Discontinuance notice.

Whilst I am relieved, somehow I feel I ought to pursue CUP as they shouldn't be allowed to bully/threaten motorists into paying vast sums of money.

Any tips to this end would be gratefully received. I will write to my local MP and the local council.

Secondly, as your case was about being covertly filmed on public highway for 14 seconds (even that pavement is public highway governed by those double yellows which means the council Traffic Order applies from building to building) you need to send your evidence to the CMA - ideally this week, please.

Even if we are wrong and that's a private road:

• there is no GDPR warning sign and nothing to tell you that you are being filmed by CCTV and why, which is unlawful;
• this is covert surveillance which is a hidden trap and unfair;
• It is impossible to enter into a parking contract in 14 seconds. Even if you had a fair chance to read the signs and leave, with CUP you'd still get an instant PCN generated by post which has given you no consideration period. The CMA says that is potentially illegal so you need to report it.

CUP could be fined if the CMA decide to ask about their covert CCTV entrapment sites and open an investigation. You could make the difference.

I'll post a list of concerns to raise with the CMA but show us your NoD first!
