Incorrect Tyres Fitted - Chargeback?

The first statement makes the second one incorrect.  You could have had your original tyres re-fitted but you chose not to because you did not want to wait.  So you have chosen to use the tyres and, by the sounds of it, continue to do so.  Your expectations here do not seem realistic.     

The first of those two quotes could be read that the manager decided against the switch back.

Good point.  It could be read either way.

I read it as the manager changed their mind, due to time. Not the OP.

Just to add - depending on why the OP was getting the tyres changed then refitting the originals may have not even been an option
