Google witholding Payment of Trade In Payment
Hi there, cant see anything already here which surprises me a bit
as theres quite a bit out there for example on Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/1nx7it9/3_month_wait_for_trade_in_payment_google_store_uk/
Basically
I traded in my previous phone, a Pixel 8 for a Pixel 10 on 26th August
with an agreed trade in of £411. Long story short is that 2 months later
after a totally strange but incredibly annoying and frustrating series
of intereactions with Google, I am still waiting for my refund.
They use the main delaying tactic that here was a problem with my payment method (PayPal). I don't
understand because PayPal had worked perfectly for the payment of the
new Pixel 10 . Anyway, I checked my payment method, everything was fine and still nothing
happened.
After multiple exchanges with the Google Store Support, first I was told to wait up to 14 days, and then 60 days!
I
even got a verfified statement from PayPal saying my account is
completely fine for any payments but they still keep coming back with "update your PayPal account details within
our system as soon as possible" and "note that the standard processing time for a corrected refund to reflect
in your PayPal account is typically 30 to 60 days from the
re-submission date." (I have just got this standard - automated? - email reply from them the last few times).
So essentially seems like they are keeping resetting the clock so I never get my payment!!!
I have threatened them with going to the Financial Ombudsman Service to look into this, possibly also the
Competition and Markets Authority, but all they do is still reply with the same response, what are basically complete lies.
So,
has anyone else experienced this and if so are there any solutions to
finally get hold of what you are rightfully owed? Has anyone tried
complaing to the Financial Ombudsman Service and/or
Competition and Markets Authority?
Many thanks
