Possible unauthorized transaction - charity donation

Wouldn't it be included in the same transaction rather than separately if an organisation were including a charity donation?
Remember Tesco doing a similar thing a few years ago, where they were rounding up people's bills to include a charity donation but not asking customers. That soon stopped following a backlash.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
Have you bought a poppy?ro1892 said:I've just noticed a small £2 card transaction to a charity on my statement. I only made one other transaction that day so I'm wondering if it's one of them where a charity donation has been added on at the point of sale and I've missed it?Just wondering where I stand legally. I did not press anything to add the donation, the only thing I did was hover my card over the machine after the retailer presented the card machine to me.Am I able to challenge this, or is it legally my fault for not checking the amount on the machine?I have the receipt from the purchase and there is no mention of this extra £2 on there.
As many sites only take card payments now.Life in the slow lane0
