CPW randomly rejected order. any ideas?
Options
this is a weird one. i applied for the virgin 6 months free SIM from CPW, only for them to reject my order with this email:
Thank you for ordering with The Carphone Warehouse Online.
We are unable to complete you order because you have reached the maximum number of handsets allowed per quarter, please note that only two ( 2 ) handsets are allowed every 3 months from any Carphone Warehouse.
This order has now been cancelled and no funds have been taken.
i last ordered a phone from them in 2005, and that was only one ( 1 ) handset. also the order that this email was rejecting was for a SIM only rather than a handset. i have immaculate credit history, no debts and have paid all my mobile bills on time. all of this leaves me rather puzzled.
is this a stunt CPW pull often? has anyone else had this strange email? should i just try to order again with a different bank account/email address/credit card, or have they blacklisted me somehow? or is this possibly a way of avoiding paying quidco (i.e. i'd have to phone up to set them right)?
i'll reiterate my mantra from previous dealings with this company: never underestimate the incompetence of Carphone Warehouse...

Have you ordered from e2save or 1stopphoneshop recently, they are all part of the same group so all count towards the same total?Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0

i had thought of that but my last order with e2save was in march 2006, so that doesn't work either. never used any company other than cpw and e2save. they haven't replied to my email querying it, so i'm at a bit of a loss what to do. i would resubmit my order but i don't want to end up with just another cancellation.0 -

call them...........
yeah, that's very much a last resort. trust me, after the mind-numbing call centre experience i've been through the last few weeks the last thing i want to endure is some CPW KD telling me that i've had 2 phones in the last quarter because "that's what the email you got said" or something.
i was just generally wondering if this was a common problem or if they're particularly picking on me with their web of lies.0
