Cool - the measurements will help.
I'd assumed they were all a pretty standard 1.5".
A pic of the receiving end in the pan might help too.
The current control is a lever handle? I presume that is also an unusual design, with it having to protrude out forwards to get through whatever boxing-in there is? Will a new cistern suit this? Will the shaft come through in the same place?
Sounds like a 'mare job if you can't find the same size :-(

    After having a closer look a SF I see 1.5" and 2", e.g. https://www.screwfix.com/p/fluidmaster-4550073-1-1-2-and-2-button-cable-dual-flush-bottom-inlet/58353 . It's 1.5, but can be used with a 2" hole - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYDOR5Nvp50
I wonder where the guy in the video got this transparent cistern... I want one!

'Low-level' cisterns (with a pipe) seem to have 2" valves as for the one I'm returning, the pipe fits into the outlet of the valve.

So, Ideally I need a cistern without a valve and to buy a valve separately.

    I'm struggling to understand, sorry.
Does the pan have a sticky out back that goes in to the wall in order for the cistern to sit on it?
    ...
It's some unusual design specially for a concealed cistern. I don't think they make such pans nowadays as all concealed systems I see are 'low level' with a pipe.

And, for the record, the hole does take 2" BSP flush outlet (the original was 1.5" BSP), so the problem seems to be only with the fixing bracket with 47mm hole. 2" brackets are rare, but do exist, e.g. https://plumbinbits.co.uk/product/viva-cc-kit-flat-plate-pp0030-b/
