So you transferred from Nationwide to Revolut?
And then made a card transaction from Revolut?

If anywhere there was a card transaction - call and ask for charge back.

From what I can tell from the information OP has shared, the card transactions were initiated by the scammer. All the OP did, apart from transferring money from their Nationwide to their Revolut account, is approve the card transactions in Revolut.

We have as yet not got an answer to the question I asked earlier: How did the scammer obtain the Revolut card details?

I might of course have misunderstood, so it would be helpful if the OP could clarify.

Sorry, for slow reply. So whilst the scammer was on the phone they appeared to know the first few digits of the card and asked me to confirm the last few digits.  Obviously piecing this together they ended up with the whole card number.  I was so dumb. I can't believe I just handed this to him on a bloody plate.  Is there anything that can be done??

The first 6 digits are the card issuer ID, so should be the same for all cards of the same type issued by that bank/issuer.

I doubt you'll get any help from Revolut if you have also provided the CVV number and expiry date.

I've never been able to make a card payment online or over the phone without inputting those as well.

  • I know, it was so stupid.  He had me panicked on the phone.  I can't believe I have been such an idiot. He heard me cry when I saw what had happened and the realisation had hit, i even said how bad my mental health was.  How I didn't lose my life on Wednesday I'll never know.

Breathe, it'll do you no good to continue to panic. If you need, please speak to someone professionally on your mental health.

I'm just trying to caution if you get called again, please breathe - nothing's urgent, nothing will get worse if you pause and call the bank back. Scammers use urgency as a weapon, your defence is staying calm.

Sadly as OP provided 2FA code to the fraudster, there is no claim of fraud. So no chargeback rights.
