Octopus Fix Now or Wait longer….
Currently on Octopus 15m Fixed due to expire 10th December 2025. Current offer of Oct 12m fixed is slightly more but I don’t know whether to wait until Nov/Dec. If i change now i will pay slight more for one month or so. This way my tariff would be similar (a little more) for the next 12 months to what it is now. This is for both gas and electricity.

If Octopus fixes have no exit fees, then you can fix until a cheaper one comes along.1

I’ve recently fixed with Octopus. Mine has a £25 exit fee . Obviously that’s not much compared to some other exit fees, but they have started…0

Ok thanks this has no exit fee0

Octopus will usually let you set the new tariff to run from the end of your current tariff, so you shouldn't pay any more until then...0

Obviously that’s not much compared to some other exit fees, but they have started…The odd tariff or three-ish* (domestic fixed tariffs), have had exit fees this year, with a slightly better unit rate & standing charge, so might still be a good deal for some if they offer them again.Always worth checking obviously, but it's still the norm to have £0 exit fees with Octopus, but that flexibility is also translating into slightly higher rates, than other utility companies of late.* I'm a tariff hopper, so have got into the habit of checking almost daily, along with the news and weather.1

Make sure you look at other options. Recently moved from Octopus after using a price comparison website. Love their app and customer service but it doesnt justify 25p a unit for electricity relative to about 20p elsewhere.2
