On UC. Rejected for PIP, Shall i apply for ESA??

That's exceptionally quick to be PIP assessed. I am taking a punt here that the PIP application was particularly poor or failed to make the basic qualification criteria on timeline but I could be wrong. Understanding the criteria is critical to making a case for the applicable descriptors. Your friends just in language suggest they probably don't know much about PIP - your condition would not qualify you for PIP - what could qualify you for PIP is scoring enough points in disablement across activities looked at which your condition causes disablement regarding.bradztheman said:
I had to stop working yes, so immediately i signed up to universal credit.Spoonie_Turtle said:Sorry, just for my understanding, can I clarify something - you said about a month ago you had to stop work and claim UC, but you've also applied for PIP and had an assessment? Is the timeframe of 'about a month' a typo?
It doesn't change any of the good advice given above but it's just a bit confusing. It may also help work out whether you should have already had a UC referral for a Work Capability Assessment or not.I was then told by friends i could probably claim pip being how bad my condition is, so i put in a claim for pip, around the same time and had the assesment a couple of weeks later."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -
Your absolutely right tbh. When i filled out the form, i didnt take much time and thought into it to be honest, as i was expecting a face to face interview after i filled out the paperwork. When it come to it, it was a telephone interview, but with all the scores being 0 it looked like they just went off what i written down on the paperwork as some questions i didnt answer i thought they would also ask my doctors for evidenceMuttleythefrog said:

Yes.. recipe for disaster. Often it can take a lot of work to get to making a successful claim. If they have easy routes to finding no disablement they will take them... I suspect you offered them on a plate. No they won;t likely ask your doctors as your doctors are unlikely to be able to help in your claim - the criteria for PIP is quite different than the information your doctor is likely to have. Confirmation of diagnosed conditions and treatments tried or to be tried are important facts you can get from your medical records yourself. They rely on you as the primary source of information about how you live day to day - your doctor doesn't see that. You want PIP - they expect you to convince them you qualify... do not expect them to assist you by seeking information you do not provide. If you didn't put pertinent information of the form then again you were setting yourself up for failure. You can ask for a mandatory reconsideration but to be honest I might be inclined to check you meet the basic criteria on having had the problems 3 months and expect them to last 9 or more months - if you do then either MR or perhaps even re-apply in a few months when you're better prepared with evidence and relevant knowledge..... or go to CAB for advice. Regarding assessments... yes still most are by phone rather than face to face... things changed due to Covid as assessments needed to continue but at low risk... the DWP is trying to increase the numbers of F2F assessments again.bradztheman said:
