Hello, I came here for an answer to the above question as I had the same happen after an update on my phone. I found that to get my functionality back that I had to go into the settings of the secure folder that I had those apps in specifically and re-input fingerprints for that. I thought it was worth sharing an alternative
    OP here

That's interesting because I have my banking apps in a secure folder too so I'd be interested in a bit more detail on how you do it

Open the secure folder, tap on the "3 dots menu" then Settings ->"Secure folder lock and biometrics".
Then you can set new fingerprints there.

You can choose not to use them to open the secure folder if you want, but you must set them there for App within the secure folder to use them.

Hi, what if I've never used or set up the secure folder before? I'm assuming my banking apps sit outside of this. Tried all the other methods mentioned and nothing works.

Could you confirm your phone model, Android and OneUI versions?

Think most people who had this issue resolved it some months ago, are you saying you can't use your fingerprint for any login authorisation (banking or otherwise) since the update?

I have a Samsung Galaxy A52s, One UI version 6.1, Android version 14. My fingerprint works fine to log into my phone but suddenly stopped working for all 4 of my banking apps on Monday morning. When I try to re-enable it within the apps, it says it's not available. Was wondering if my phone had been compromised or something.

Bit strange for different banks' apps to all stop working on the same day. Your A52s received its last security update in June of last year (it's now "out of support" with Samsung) so not likely to be an OS update.

Any reason to think that your phone has been compromised? Has it been out of your possession recently? It's hard to compromise an Android phone remotely unless you have been downloading apps from non-Play Store sources.

I'd remove (not change or add) my fingerprint data from the phone, reboot and add it back then try those bank apps again.

Presumably your banking apps still work with a passcode/password? Most of the usual/big bank's apps are still happy running on Android 8/9/10 so there's no actual technical reason to update your phone although the lack of security updates caused me to retire my A52s last year and replace it with an A36.

Many thanks for the advice. Removing my fingerprint and re-adding it did the trick. Hoping it was just one of those unexplained technical glitches which caused this to happen in the first place and nothing untoward. I also hadn't realised my phone was no longer receiving security updates so will have a think about possibly replacing it.
