Flight time changes

We've booked a flight through Vueling for next May as we are going on a Disney cruise. The flights were not booked as a package with the cruise. The flight was booked for 11.05am from Barcelona, this has now changed to 7.30am departure. Vueling havent emailed me to let me know this, I only found out because a friend on the same flight told me and I logged into my account and saw it was the same for me.
We cant get on the 7.30am flight as we won't get off the boat in time. My friend has phoned Vueling and they have said we can't have a refund on the flight, they could move us to another flight free of charge but none are available. When you look in the vueling app all the flights to Barcelona have gone from April onwards so there is nothing showing. Surely they can't all be sold out? There advice is to not accept the change and something may come up over the next few months they can move us in to but that feels like a risk. I'd rather cancel and get my money back so I can book with someone else before it gets too expensive.
What can we do? Is there any way to get a refund?

Sadly you havent booked this as a package so your have no rights at all (if there is nothing available on another flight that day). The time of the change is well within the tolerance of a change that is allowed, and no airline (not just Vueling) would really give a stuff if you were stuck on a boat offshore or not, as quite frankly that isnt their problem (no point in sugar coating it for you).

That is the risk of booking things independently.

Vueling don't care you have a cruise you need to catch as you didn't book a package. Sounds harsh, but it is true.

I only ever book independently, but I would have booked the flight for the day before so you have an extra day in case things go wrong.

Are you flying from Barcelona to the UK?

Probably worth looking at other options.  For example, can you fly back to another airport with Vueling?

I don't know the answer but I'm wondering if you chose to return to a different airport, if they subsequently do operate flights to your original airport at a suitable time, perhaps you'd be able to switch again?
