Has Avis been hacked today?

I hired a car from Avis on September 16th 2025. Picked it up from Holiday Inn Stansted and dropped it off at same location on September 23rd 2025 during working hours.
I took a video of the car before I gave the keys back. There was no damage, only existing damage that was there when I picked it up. That damage had been noted at the start of the rental.
I have just received an email from uk.damageservices@abg.com stating that 'new damage has been identified that occurred during my rental', and that I will be charged for the damage after 14 days.
I have received this email almost 1 month after dropping off the car!
There is an attachment on the email outlining the damage. I obviously haven't clicked on it.
I received the email just as Avis customer services closed, so I cannot contact them until tomorrow.
Surely Avis don't try to blame customers for damage to their vehicles nearly a month after the car has been returned? All I can assume is that they have been hacked, as the email contains my name and details about my rental.
I will obviously contact them tomorrow, but in the meantime I just wanted to find out if anyone out there has had the same experience.
Thanks

Just an update on this one...
I spoke to a really helpful and professional rep at Avis this morning. He confirmed that the email was genuine, and looked into it for me.
Apparently there was a nail in one of the tyres, which was noted and photographed the day after I gave the car back....
He confirmed that it wasn't something that should be charged for as it was at the edge of the tyre, and could probably have been pulled out with no damage.
He's cancelling any charges. Reassuring to speak to a decent and reasonable human being.
