Car hire fiasco- what are my rights?

We hired a 9 seater van with Jetset through a TUi shop for our holiday in Greece. When we arrived the company said it was not available due to an accident.
We contacted the TUI shop and they emailed  me to tell us to book an equivalent at the airport and they would cover the cost which we managed to do.

Now we are home we have revived a refund for the original amount but not the extra £180 that the vehicle cost.

I paid my money to TUI but they are saying they need to wait for a decision from Jetset. Surely my contract is with TUI and they should refund the extra and then chase the refund with Jetset for themselves.

Can you help on the legal stance of this please?
thanks

What timeframe are we talking, if days or a few weeks then just wait, if months then slightly different.

What is the exact wording on them agreeing to cover the extra cost?

Tui usually just acts as the agent of the car hire company and are unlikely to be the contracting party, this should be clear in the documentation you received from them.
