If the car is on finance they are the owners.
Contact the finance company and tell them what’s happened.

Just watched this on YouTube - it was a Citroen van but got the same response as you from the dealer.
Seems to be a common problem unfortunately
Citroen, Peugeot & Vauxhall are forcing customers to pay thousands to repair their EV's0 -
For anyone still interested, it has been a drawn out process, but after submitting all of the information to Cinch (Including delayed SAR from RAC and from Peugeot, for which I was compensated, but still less than ideal) Cinch decided ultimately to settle by paying the amount for the repair I had completed on the vehicle.
I'm glad I persisted with it and got the result and thanks for the help and advice given here.2
