PCN for mistake of registration number

Hi I received a pCN for inputting an incorrect registration number of my vehicle, I put in a number plate of another car we own. I have appealed on the basis that I can prove I paid for car I was driving and that the car with mistaken reg number was in a different car park elsewhere at the same time.
I am now being chased by Moorside legal for £170.
Should I carry on defending my case?

    Obviously yes. You'll never pay.

What happened in response to your appeal?

    Which PPC scammer?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Oh thats a shame as if you had come here first then you would have had it cancelled in one easy step (with it being APCOA)
    Just await any court claim
Sounds like we may start to see Apcoa court claims via Moorside @Coupon-mad
Be interesting to see Moorside's approach on airport claims (if any) that have not been appealed etc so the lack of keeper liability etc

When was the parking event?  For a "major keying error" such as this, the parking company should have offered to cancel the charge for an admin fee of £20.  If they did not do so and were aware of the mistake then they are in breach of their Code of Practice.

There are multiple previous cases where motorists have entered the wrong, partial or even no registration number which have won in court.

APCOA are using one of the less competent legal firms, so the chances of losing in court are low.
Always remember to abide by Space Corps Directive 39436175880932/B:
'All nations attending the conference are only allocated one parking space.'
