Moving broadband

We are moving home and our current broadband provider ( community fibre) does not cover our new area, they want to charge us an exit fee for early termination of contract. Should we have to pay this since it is them not us causing us to cancel the contract.

You are the party breaking the contract, you have to bear the cost of doing so.0

Yes, you are liable unless there is a clause in your contract saying that if you move to an area that is not serviceable they will waive any early termination fees.
You ARE the reason for the cancellation, you have a contract for your current address only, it is not a portable contract.1 -
I have recently moved address and enquired with my provider (at the time) if they covered the new address. They asked me to contact them again in a month and they will confirm whether they do or not.
Found out they could not service that address so they DID NOT charge me the early termination fee. I had to also provide proof that I moved to a non-serviceable address.0 -

As above, if a supplier can provide a service at your new address then they will often (not always) waive the fee if you take out another contract at the new address.
However if they don't operate in the new area then as you cant take advantage of this concession they will usually charge you a termination fee as it is you terminating the contract. There may be one of two providers who may waive the fee if they cant provide a service but they are few and far between.
Check your T&C's to check but I'd guess that smaller companies like Community Fibre will be less flexible than the bigger providers.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
